 Sculptra for Buttock Augmentation

1. What is Sculptra bio-stimulation and how does it work for buttock augmentation?

Sculptra is a type of filler composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable substance. When carefully injected into the buttock and hip dips, it stimulates collagen production, providing a gradual and natural-looking increase in volume. Mr. Hazim Sadideen also uses a specialist technique to divide superficial bands, which helps improve buttock cellulite.

2. How long does the Sculptra buttock augmentation procedure take?

The procedure typically takes about 30-60 minutes, depending on the treatment plan. It is an outpatient procedure. Mr. Hazim Sadideen usually injects local anaesthetic and uses ice to help minimise discomfort and bruising. The Sculptra is then massaged for 5 minutes and patients are shown how to do this themselves. For the next 5 days, Mr. Sadideen recommends 5min buttock massages 5 times a day, to prevent the formation of lumps and to allow for a natural spread and integration of the product.

3. What are the potential risks and side effects of Sculptra for buttock augmentation?

While Sculptra is generally considered safe, common side effects may include swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. Serious complications are rare but can include infection, nodule formation or in rare instances, skin necrosis. Mr. Sadideen will discuss potential risks and benefits during the consultation.

4. What is the recovery time after Sculptra buttock augmentation?

Patients may experience swelling and bruising, which usually subsides within a week. It is advisable to avoid strenuous activities (especially buttock sweating) during the initial days post-treatment. If there are prolonged periods of sitting down in the first few days, additional short massages may be required. Most patients can resume normal activities within a few days.

5. When will I see results, and how long do they last?

Mr. Hazim Sadideen prefers a gradual, natural-looking build-up. He usually begins with a low volume on each buttock, and then repeats the procedure 1-2 months later, until the desired results are achieved. Results are not immediate but develop gradually over a few weeks (and up to months) as collagen production increases. The effects can last up to two years, and additional top-up sessions may be recommended to maintain the desired results.

6. Are there any long-term considerations or precautions after the procedure?

It is important to attend follow-up appointments with Mr. Sadideen to monitor progress and address any concerns. Mr. Sadideen recommends a healthy lifestyle and exercise to optimise longevity of the results.

7. How do I manage pain or discomfort after Sculptra buttock augmentation?

Usually this is minimal, and settles relatively quickly. Over-the-counter pain relief (e.g. paracetamol) can be used to manage any mild discomfort. Mr. Sadideen may provide specific recommendations based on your medical history.
